14E PATRIOT Fire Control Enhanced Operator/Maintainer

Supervises or serves in an air defense unit or as a member of an air defense activity engaged in operations or intelligence functions of liaison units.

Responsible for system emplacement, initialization, and operator / organizational level system maintenance and services, (limited to the ability to detect improper equipment operation or malfunction by use of the senses, embedded diagnostic aids; e.g., BIT/BITE and/or on-board test equipment, Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) (e.g., multimeter to perform low voltage and continuity checks), technical references, technical inspections, adjustments, removal and replacement of battery replaceable units/line-replaceable units (BRUs/LRUs), and other tasks authorized in the maintenance allocation chart (MAC), and preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) required to sustain or return the PATRIOT Fire Control Section (FCS), Fire Direction Section (FDS), and associated equipment to its operational readiness condition). Performs Battle Damage Assessment Repair (BDAR), near-real time status reporting, report generation, and system deployment. Evaluates target data and identifies and engages targets.

Performs duties in preceding skill level, supervises and provides technical guidance to lower grade soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Prepares status reports. Monitors unit equipment readiness. Coordinates with maintenance/logistical support activities. Assists in organization planning, operations and training.

14H Air Defense Enhanced Early Warning System Operator

AN/TPY-2 FBM Operations Sergeant: Served as Operation Sergeant for the 12th Missile Defense Battery's Sensor Management Cell (SMC) in support of the 32d AAMDC's forward mission; responsible for the Forward Based AN/TPY-2 operations into the USCENTCOM Joint Integrated Air Missile Defense (JIAMD) Operational Environment; incorporates current Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) threats to successfully employ the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) system to defeat BMD threats within the USCENTCOM Area of Operations(AO); maintains current system and communication status of JIAMD assets within the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility.

JTAGS (Space Command): Joint Tactical Ground Station Operator for Army Space and Missile Defense Command. Conducts data analysis of direct down-linked data from space-based Sensors and various other intelligence sources in order to disseminate warning, alerting and cueing information to area Combatant Commanders, for airborne threats from tactical ballistic missiles and other events of interest originating from, passing through, and threatening to impact in their Area of Responsibility.

Operates desktop computers, laptop computers, Printer/copier machines, and telephones daily. Proficient in MS Office to include: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Publisher. Creates spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and correspondence for various agencies.

Interprets and implements SOPs, manuals, and other guidance from higher in order to insure efficient and proper operations.

Supervises 3 employees on a daily basis; providing technical guidance, training, and leadership to include monthly performance evaluations, and assistance in financial, personal, and professional issues.

14T Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator / Maintainer

A PATRIOT launching station enhanced operator works directly with the PATRIOT launching stations. An important part of the Army’s air defense, the PATRIOT missile system can launch advanced-technology ammunition that is capable of neutralizing multiple air targets. Operates and performs preventive maintenance checks and services on vehicles. Operates a 10-ton crane. Engage hostile targets with the PATRIOT weapon. Perform checks and adjustments and loads the Machine Gun. Perform emplacement, march orders and preventive maintenance checks and services on the Radar Set, the Engagement Control Station, the Guided Missile Transporter, the Launching Station and the Guided Missile Canister.
